The cowgirl ropes a Billionaire was a cute read. Bella and Evan both were likable, but had flaws making them more realistic. Evan was a major sore loser and Bella had serious insecurities. The Can You Beat a Billionaire show was funny in how cheesy it was and at the same time how like real life shows it sounded. Bella and Evan's crap talking was silly and their pet names for each other hand me laughing and how stupid they where. Evan called Bella Betty Bumpkin and Bella called Evan Moneybuns. The director Madelyn had me cracking up with the way she kept trying to make drama because everything sounded so boring. I really enjoyed Bella's backstory. I also felt Bella and Evan had good chemistry. It was cute how they start and have a relationship under the watchful eyes of all the cameras. The ending was so sweet. I really enjoyed What Evan did to get the girl. This book was a great easy going, lighthearted, sweet read!Product details

Author Cora Seton comes up with a winning storyline for her romance novel about two likable people damaged by long-ago life events. Evan, the title's billionaire, and Bella, the spunky small animal vet estranged from her family, are interesting three-dimensional characters.
The plot centers around the intrepid couple appearing on a Survivor-like reality television show where the stakes could not be higher. If Bella wins, she receives $5 million to save her no-kill animal shelter and struggling veterinarian practice. If Evan wins, Bella must marry him for at least one year, thus saving his thriving tech company from falling into the clutches of his brother who is not as interested in helping humanity as he is the bottom line.
The rapid-fire interaction between the two main characters is excellent. Also well-done are the secondary characters such as the snarky television show director. I was drawn in completely during the first two-thirds of the book as Evan and Bella discover uncomfortable truths about themselves and each other while competing in difficult physical challenges in gorgeous Jasper National Park in Canada.
But the author let her readers down in the final third of the book. The ending feels rushed and unsatisfying. The villain of the book, the awful TV director, doesn't get any comeuppance -- no ending at all. It also seems quite obvious that the author is throwing in additional characters for future books who are clumsily introduced without any real connection to this book's story.
I hope that this talented writer doesn't make the same mistake In subsequent novels. She is imaginative and writes an excellent backstory for her characters. Her dialog is natural and witty. She just needs to make sure that her plots fulfill the early promise she makes to her readers. Unfortunately, this one did not.

Unbeknownst to her. her best friend signs her up for a reality television show, Can You Beat a Billionaire. If she wins, she gets a few million. If she loses she must marry the billionaire for a year. Evan Mortimer, billionaire, can't believe he's reduced to competing in a television contest to win a wife. Unfortunately, it's the only foolproof way to secure his position as head of Mortimer Innovations. At least he'll be able to dump his "spouse" at the end of the year. He's much too busy to be tied down to a country bumpkin cowgirl. I'm not a huge fan of reality show books, but this one was well done with the focus on the two people. Bella and Evan each have their own issues, which the show is set to use against them in every way possible. Both spend time thinking about their pasts and why they are the way they are. Evan is usually too busy for self reflection and realizes he is becoming is father, even when he thought he was not.
I loved it. Ms. Seton never disappoints. The heroine is running a small vet clinic with a safe animal shelter on the side in a small Montana city. She is fast going under. The unwanted animals far outnumber the beloved pets and the cost of their upkeep is pulling her under. She is desperate. Unknown to her, her staff, one helper, and her friends sign her up to be on a reality show. She is pitted against a billionaire. If she wins, she gets 5 million dollars. If she loses, then he gets to decide her "punishment". she has absolutely no intentions of going through after they tell her she has been selected. Her friends remind her of all the unwanted animals that are depending on her and without funds, they will be put down. She is forced to sign on the dotted line. ONLY after she discovers that the billionaire needs a wife for one year.
The hero is a billionaire that runs the family business in California. He desperately needs a wife or according to the will, the control of the company will pass to his little brother. The difference between the two is his brother is interested in the bottom line and how much money he can make, the hero uses the firm to make living conditions better and saves the environment. So, he signs up.
Needless to say these two have their own demons they are fighting. Issues from childhood cause fears and phobias. She knows her own shortcomings but since he is rich he shouldn't have any. He has no idea what her problems are but he is pretty sharp and he figures out a lot about her. They are taken to the mountains in Canada to start their competition.
This story had parts that were laugh out loud funny. I never realized that "Bear" could be so funny!!! These two learn a lot about themselves, discover feelings they didn't know they were capable of, and just what motivates reality TV. It was a very entertaining read. I was up until 330 a.m. because I just could not put it down. I really enjoyed the story and definite recommend it. In comparison to some of Ms. Seton's other books this one was rather tame in the sex department. Lots of chemistry just no way to do anything about it!! Great read.
